Typically succinct, Paul adds: "We draw out what the client wants and we make it happen."
That may mean altering the lay-out of a building, designing and com- missioning bespoke fittings and fur- niture, as well as coming up with colour and fabric combinations, art and ornaments. But what they love to do best is get their teeth into a whole building – a restoration project.
The recession meant large-scale projects dried up for a while, but "things have picked up rapidly since Christmas," says Paul. Among the smaller commissions the couple has worked on include making a home out of a railway carriage and doing up an angler's hut.
